Remote work is becoming the choice of an increasing number of professionals providing services in various fields. This mode of activity is preferred because it provides specialists with the opportunity to work in international companies directly from home, gain experience, and benefit from a motivating salary.
To help girls and women in the regions of the country provide online information technology services on freelance platforms, the National Association of ICT Companies (ATIC) has taken an initiative in this regard. ICT4Women Cahul is a program supported by EU4Moldova: Startup City Cahul giving an opportunity for young women from the southern region of the country to take more specialized courses.
One of the beneficiaries of the project, a role model for young women in Cahul, Cantemir, Leova and Taraclia is Iana Chifiac. She took a graphic design course, the training program brought her straight to work, and she managed to get an important project through the international freelance platform – Upwork.
In addition, as a freelancer, she has provided a range of design projects to clients from various industries. She currently works as a freelancer, volunteer and continues to take care of her children and family. Most importantly, she is able to perform her duties remotely, without having a fixed schedule and without spending all day in the office.
