The Regional Assistance and Information Centre of Non-Governmental Organisations in Moldova „CONTACT-Cahul” in partnership with „Institutum Virtutes Civilis” have organised the launching event „Local partnership for women’s empowerment in Cahul and Ungheni districts”, implemented within the EVA Project „Promoting gender equality in Cahul and Ungheni districts”, financed by European Union, and implemented by UN Women Moldova in partnership with UNICEF Moldova.
The partnerships will strengthen the capacities of non-commercial organisations and other local partners from Cahul and Ungheni districts in the field of women’s rights for an active promotion of gender equality principles in local development strategies, both in decision-making, and budgetary planning processes.
The partnerships launching event took place online, on 19 February 2021, containing many greetings messages from initiators and partners, as well as a presentation of project goals and activities.
During the event, the representatives of LPAs from 12 partner localities in Cahul and Ungheni districts, local partners within NGOs, local initiatives teams, and women leaders have learned about the peculiarities and key activities of the project but also about the implementation process plans.
For a good cooperation within the project, the implementing organisations, Contact-Cahul and IVC, signed trilateral agreements with partner LPAs and beneficiaries of EVA Project. They provide for authorities’ commitments to participate in the project promoting gender equality in Cahul (Slobozia Mare, Văleni, Andruşsul de Jos, Larga Nouă, comuna Zărneşti villages, and Cahul municipality), and Ungheni (Manoileşti, Zagarancea, Pârliţa and Măcăreşti communes, Rădenii Vechi village, and Ungheni municipality).
