On 30 November 2020, the European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM) marked its fifteenth anniversary.

Over the years, the EUBAM has facilitated and strengthened the cooperation between Moldovan and Ukrainian authorities, becoming a reliable partner in the region. Within this context, the Mission’s efforts towards supporting the modernisation of border management led to a faster and more secure border crossings for bona fide travellers and legitimate trade.

Furthermore, over the last 15 years, EUBAM provided added value to national, regional, and global security and contributed to the promotion of international cooperation and respect of human rights.
